Auditorium

The auditorium has a capacity of 422 seats + 4 spaces for wheelchair users and seats for their accompanying carers. The audience can enjoy performances in a warm, friendly and intimate atmosphere with all seats free from obstructed view of the stage.

With an upto date Lighting and Sound System, which includes an Induction Loop for the hearing impaired, performances are seen and heard at their best.

The Theatre Front of House Manager, Auditorium Stewards, and Bar Staff are there to assist patrons and ensure they experience a wonderful night at the Theatre.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Licensed Bar

The Theatre has a well-stocked licensed bar which is open for all performances half an hour before the performance starts - during the interval(s) and occasionally at the end of the performance.

Shortly after the bar opens, for your convenience, orders can be placed for interval drinks

The Theatre Bar can be hired for meetings or rehearsals at a rate of £26.00 per 3 hour session (2010 rates ) £27.00 per 3 hour session (2011 rates )

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Mess Room

The Mess Room is available to the cast and production staff throughout their Hire Period at the theatre

Please Note :- Hirers should keep the work surfaces and sink clean. The carpet area will be hoovered daily by the Theatre Cleaner

Facilities available include :-

  • Fridge/Freezer
  • Microwave Cooker
  • 3 Electric Kettles
  • Cups and Saucers
  • Sink with H+C running water
  • Cupboard Space for storage

Stage

Proscenium Stage

The Stage is a Proscenium Arch type with an apron forestage in front of the Main House Curtains

The rear of the stage has a flat cyclorama wall which can be lit from above, below and the sides. Either side of the Cyclorama are the Stage Left and Stage Right access doors for the cast. These doors lead onto the stage via the Green Room which is directly behind the cyclorama wall.


Green Room

Green Room

The Green Room is easily accessible from the Dressing Rooms and serves as the main access point to the stage via Stage Left and Stage Right doors leading into the wings. The Green Room itself has makeup mirrors with lights and also a cctv monitor and sound relay for the cast. It is also a convenient place to site a small props table and a radio microphone table for those productions requiring radio microphones.

ALL HIRERS PLEASE NOTE :- The Green Room is not to be used as a dressing room as the Theatre Fire Steward must patrol this area throughout the performance. Any quick changes should be carried out on stage in the wings.

 

 

 

 


Dressing Rooms

The Theatre has 5 well appointed dressing rooms which will cater for the needs of a cast of 100 including chaperones/dressers etc

The maximum number cannot be exceeded for Health and Safety reasons and Fire Regulations

 

 

 

 


Box Office

A newly refurbished Box Office for use during performance evenings/afternoons is available to Hirers

Hirers can man the Box Office themselves or Theatre Staff will gladly man it for them. This should be indicated on the Hire Forms sent out to all Hirers

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

Special Needs Facilities

Wheelchair spaces for 4 wheelchair users and seats for their carers are conveniently situated by the bar exit which leads on to Special Needs toilet facilities all on one level. Access is available to the Greendale Road entrance doors via a ramp leading from the Main Door at the side of the theatre and is lit at night. Access is also available via the Staff entrance to the Bar in the car park at the rear of the theatre.

An induction loop system has been installed for the hearing impaired
